Not alone so not misperception

by Donna Buenaventura Moderator - 2/24/08 5:21 PM In reply to: Another misperception in need of correcting by JohnRolandElliott

The reply by LS to Corrine seems to me that Ad-watch (if running) can caused WLOC to terminate (shutdown).

Corrine's response to LS is "you do indicate a conflict between Ad-Watch (AW) and WLOC, causing WLOC to terminate prematurely."

Isn't WLOC has a process or service? If it's really terminated due to Ad-watch then who should fix it?

:)

Another misperception in need of correcting

On 2/21 you said:
"No. I still believe still LS who should fix the problem. Not MS because their Ad-watch should not terminate a legitimate process, especially if the component is the resident protection tool by a user (Firewall, Antivirus, Antispyware)."

Where did you get the (preposterous) notion that Ad-Watch was terminating a legitimate process? The comment that the LavaSoft guy made was "The only time a problem occurs is when you are running the realtime protection features of Ad-Aware 2007 Plus/Pro (Ad-Watch), at which point LiveOneCare might terminate prematurely." I interpret that to mean "If OneCare notices that Ad-Watch is running, OneCare might stomp off in a petulant snit and slit it own wrists."

It's Lavasoft who should fix the problem. Not MS

I am not technical but when we first added our computer tothe internet my ISP technitions added Adaware to our computer. I never had a problem and it was easy to use also. I checked for updates all the time then they decided to upgrade it to the new version then problems started. I read everything I could on it but knowing me that is tough in itself. They tell you to do different things. I went to the resort of uninstalling it then I went to the website and downloaded the new version and rebooted the computer and it seems to have corrected the problem. I have Windows Vista and it seems to be working better but don't like the looks of the program anymore. My son didn't put it back into his and his runs a lot faster than mine. Figures he plays those fast moving games on a website.Good luck.
