I had no problem with my sleep mode on my Vista system until recently. I guess a bunch of Windows updates later an Nvidia driver, my system now freezes when waking up from sleep mode. By sleep mode I mean the new power saving mode built into Vista that brings the fans and hard drive down. When the computer wakes from sleep mode, there is no mouse or keyboard (they both just freeze).
Any ideas? I see there are a few problems with this in other forums and they all seem to mention the Nvidia drive. I have the latest driver for the Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT (version 7.15.11.6925 or 169.25). I don't know this would have anything to do with a USB keyboard and/or mouse but I thought I would mention it.
I usually call such in fast so I can have open incidents to support the day I want to give it back to them.

I've had this problem on my laptop for a while. I found that if you can use your mouse, go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Accessibility then select On screen Keyboard. Keep it open and use it to type with your mouse for a short time, then try your keyboard again. After your keyboard starts to work again, close the on screen keyboard and your keyboard should remain usable. I hope this helps someone. I just figured this out and am using this process now.
