ripping DVD to Hard Drive and convert to run on a Blackberry

by rick1635 - 2/14/08 11:48 AM

I am currently running Windows Vista and have been able to rip a DVD to my hard drive, convert it from a .VOB to an MP-4 using Any Video Converter and playing it back on my desktop. The problem occurs when I move it to my Blackberry. I get an error code and it will not play. I have some Avi video that I have converted successfully using software from NCH which I have since removed from my drive because when I tried to convert the .VOB files I had no audio on playback (Blackberry or desktop).
I guess the question is, What software will convert a .VOB file to MP-4 without an issue of some sort?

Try different software.

Dvrip or record as avi and use ffmpeg to convert to mp4.

I was actually able to get Any Video Converter to work.
It seems that the Blackberry uses the MP-4 with a different codec and so I have several choices in the preferences portion of that program. By experimenting I was able to find nearly the right settings. Volume is still too low but at least there is audio and when I get a chance I will see if there is a way to boost the audio.
Thanks for your answers all.
