Yamaha NX-B02 Bluetooth Speaker

by mr.reality - 2/11/08 9:27 AM

CNet's review for this thing doesn't explicity say, but I assume this is a mono speaker? Can you buy two and connect the left and right channels via bluetooth? If not, why would anyone want a MONO speaker?

Very lame that Mr. Bell left that basic info out of his review.

Every speaker is just a speaker. Sets of them do not know

what complexity of codec audio signal is being distributed to them (mono or stereo.) Stereo is when two speakers are working in tandem with a stereo audio signal. You can pretty much connect both stereo audio signals to one speaker & it will just perform the combination provided as mono sound. Speakers are dumb. They are not intelligent, just handlers of audio signals fed to them.

Many feel a wireless speaker is such a dandy idea. The problem is their performance has been rather consistently horrid. Interference is a major problem. It seems nearly every speaker maker is now offering wireless speakers as they want to sell any new trend to a fresh set of customers. Speaker price varies widely. Nonetheless, they just don't sound all that good.

If anyone can demonstrate me as totally wrong, please do. Anyone who can avoid the wireless ones will have a much easier time of it. Please try to go where the casual pleasure is.
