My first suggestion in the previous post was:
If you haven't already, be sure to install the "NVIDIA nForce Chipset Driver and Network Controller" and the "NVIDIA GeForce Series Video Driver" from the link below. (It WAS provided earlier.):
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=1842189&lang=en
Have you tried them?
Hope this helps.

I did try downloading the drivers "NVIDIA nForce Chipset Driver and Network Controller" and the "NVIDIA GeForce Series Video Driver" It was not successful as at the end of it, it gave a message staing that it could not recognise that in my system. I hope I am not being a bore already. Please, I really need help
Please give the EXACT and FULL error message. And tell which of the two drivers gave it.
Kees

Hi! Teddy,
I suppose you have a grapic's carg geforce to have this problem...
Maybe your graphics card is desactive and you woork with the motherboard chip graphics.
You have the XP O.S. version now, and the last driver for the XP version is the 163.75. Test with this driver, you can realize the download in www.nvidia.com
The Vista version can used 169.25 and this no operate with XP!
I have two PC, one with Vista, and the other with XP Pro O.S.
The two have graphic's card and in my XP have the Same problem, used this driver and test.
The problem persist? Shure, your graphic card is disactivate, is easy see and activate the card, but you have hardware knowledge?
In my PC, in the section hardware, you have all the information of your hardware status, and is here the section to look the graphic hardware woorking in your PC, and for the messges, is too posible have disactive your graphic card and your PC woork with the motherboard graphic chip...
Allways woork with original drivers!!!
Thanks,
Alf.
Hi Kees!
Maybe you have activate in your hardware panel the graphic chip of your motherboard. Do you know this panel in Windows XP?
1. Go to my PC and click
2. Look the separetion folder with the Name "Hardware". In this moment you open a window with the three of your hardware, here try in the up part of the "three" video resources, or something else, sorry but my Windows XP is in Spanish and the exactly name is a variability... This name contain one folder in the right corner with the name "video Resources", please in the folder, click two times.
The action in particular, is only open your video resources status of your PC! and you can see the name and model of your graphic card, and maybe the graphic chip of your motherboard too.
If you liked change the options, with the left botom of your mouse, enabled your card, close. Now open your graphic chip with the left mousse open, and disabled this.
But if you no see in the video folder of your hardware configuration, the exactly name and model of your graphic card, you have maybe a hardware problem....
Visit www.nvidia.com and in the subtitles in downloads, click in the drivers section geforce, nforce, etc, and in graphic card videos and in automatic, the system ask you the model, your OS, and give the last driver, download the driver and run the program... Good Luck!!!
Alf

Hi, I try to find the drivers for Hp dv6541ev notebook. In the site of HP I found the drivers at
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=3466677&lang=en
but this address doesn't include drivers for sound. What can I do to fix my problem with sound?
Thanks, I am looking forward for your reply!

Adding to this one isn't the best way to get attention and answers.

My PC does not hybernate. It is yet to have a LAN card. I gave the specification the last time I joined this forum. Even HP has refused to help as they are saying the PC was specifically made for vista and not windows xp. Is there a way I can manovaure this? I really need to install a LAN card plus I want my PC to hybernate when I click on hybernate as it warns that it cannot hybernate when I try it.thank you
Just one question.
Did you install XP per a procedure like the one in the link I provided?
Base system devices are the card reader. Find the driver for it and it will go away. its been about a month and a half since your last post, have you found a driver for the lan and video card? Im at the same exact point that you were at, with the lan drivers, the vga drivers, and the hibernation not being an option. I have a dv6629wm. it also has the AMD processor with the nvidia chipset. theres been alot of good replies to your post and a few really bad ones.
On a second note i have a 6626us with the intel processor and chipset and it was much easier to downgrade from vista to xp.
ok bro check it out. find this file, 14.10_nforce_630a_winxp_english_whql.exe this will self extract itself to the c drive to C:\NVIDIA\nForceWin2KXP\14.10 the setup will run by itself and it should install the correct drivers for the chipset. Now for me the display drivers did not install so i did a hard install by using the device manager right clicking the device and updating the driver. the display drivers are located at C:\NVIDIA\nForceWin2KXP\14.10\Display load the ini file and choose the second or third option. I chose the 3rd option and it worked. if anyone needs help with this or any driver files they can use the hp forums, they provide alot of info or e-mail me, i also have a 6626us intel based chipset completely downgraded as well. my e-mail address is the same user name as the one i use on this forum at hotmail.com.
go to http://www.driveragent.com a really useful little program. tells you what drivers you have/need and you can choose which ones to download. $30 for a year worth it if you have spent hours looking and looking. good luck to anyone out there trying to downgrade to XP. vista blows.
Another good driver program I tested was Driver Magician
