Bell Mobility Canada Turning Customs Data Service Off

by another_cissp - 2/5/08 7:38 PM

Bell Mobility Canada began turning customers data services for excessive use EDVO connect cards on Unlimited Data Plans introduced in October 2007 and discontinued in January 2008. Bell began offering Unlimited Data Plan customers a choice of monthly 1 GB metered plans or terminate in January who Bell deemed to be using an unfair amount of network resources.

Bell was unwilling to provide customers any information on how they deemed a customer to have used an unfair amount of their monthly resources. But did offer to move customers to plans with similar monthly charges that included a limited about of data usage generally less than 1 GB per month with a per MB charge for overage. When Bell was questioned why high use customers where being encouraged to move to the capped metered service they responded customers willing to pay per MB charges beyond the monthly inclusion are welcome to use there network and would not adversely affect there network.

It appears Bell baited a number of customers away from the competition locked the consumers into multi-year contracts and refused to provide services. One customer who was turned off in January used between 4 and 5 GB per month since October 2007. Which is a minuet amount for a mobile computer being being to surf the Internet, manage email and down updates to various software programs and services.

Bell Mobility Canada business practices are among North America's worst!!
