My sister just sent me a message saying that she was doing some indoor filming using her Panasonic AG-DVC30 camcorder. However, she accidentally tripped down the stairwell in her apartment building - she is okay, but the camcorder does not appear to be. The camera is two years old, and the warranty is no longer in effect, so sending it in for repairs would be a last resort.
The camera was off when it hit the ground. She says recordings appear to be in the "low light level" mode, as is the camera mode settings, even when the lighting is normal. It's possible she just pressed the wrong buttons during the fall, but she needs advice on how to repair this, if at all - I know nothing about camcorders, so I cannot help. Using the system/camera reset option did not help.
I'd appreciate any ideas or suggestions that anyone may have on how to repair this problem, or if anyone has encountered a similar situation.
That's good since repair will likely not be more than the camera's replacement cost. The bad news is it is going to be sent to the repair depot since you've done the usual resets.
