I want a battery charger for Ni-mh for AAA and AA batteries. Reliable batteries that will last a long time, say 1,000 chargers and a good charger. One that indicates when it the charge is done and have a circuit so it doesn't overcharge.
but had to go to B&H to replace the batteries after a theft.
cardude16, For the battery charger and batteries here's my recommendations.
MAHA - MH-C204W Smart World Travel Conditioning Battery Charger

cardude16, The link below has a newer excellent charger then the one I use and posted in my previous reply. The second item on the page is the deal I recommend.

if i bought only one charger it would be the mh-c9000 this charger rocks. Yes i know it's crazy to get crazy over a battery charger but this thing is very flexable. It is the world's most powerful charger as of 1-22-08. it's 60 bucks at thomas direct and is very well worth the money. It won't fry your batteries like the 15 minute chargers will that you find in your local department store. Stay away from those chargers, all they are is a gimmick. The quickest and safest time for a charge is an 1 1/2 maybe an hour if it's a really good battery. Those "quick chargers" tend to get get very hot and cause the battery to internally dry out. There is a pressure valve on Nimh AA batteries that opens under high heat. it's just under the nipple of the plus side of a NIMH cell and on most batteries you can see three little holes around the base of the nipple of the plus side of a battery, this is where the pressue and heat are released. If it didn't have this feature and they were to get hot they would explode or spill acid into your charger. This problem is commonly seen of an acid spill on cheap rechargeables that over heat. Mainly because the valve on the cheap batteries aren't very good and don't open to release pressure. Yes this charger does cost a little more than most but it's worth every penny and will quickly make your money make by this charger drastically extending the life of your rechargeables. There's a slightly cheaper La Crosse bc-900 and bc-700 charger out there but has been prone to meltdowns, i'm steer clear of this charger, however if your still interested in it you can google it.
