Mixing Wired & Wireless on network

by DonnetteDillon - 1/4/08 6:21 PM

I have a wireless router with the broadband cable coming into it and 4 ports for plugging wired cables into it.

My desktop (Vista) is "wired" into the router and has no problem accessing the internet. My laptop (XP Prof) has no problem going through the same router wireless to get access to the internet.

But I'm not able to see either computer from the other one. I thought if they were both properly connecting through the router that I'd be able to see files on all machines. (Yes I do have file sharing turned on.)

My I haven't provided any details of make etc because this is really just a "theory" question at this point. Am I understanding this correctly? Or does my desktop have to have a wireless adapter installed?

I guess you need to check the profile settings. Users need to have full read (or write) rights.
