Any way to calculate BPM for MP3's?

by Patrick Andrews - 7/21/04 4:03 PM

I have a large, legal, MP3 collection and I program my MP3 player with songs to run to. So it's important that I know the BPM (beats per Minute) of the song. I have a small freeware program that works but you have to tap your keyboard to determine the BPM. If I have to do that, I can just count it out to a secondhand..

Is there any software out there that could analyze a group of songs and provide this data? The iTunes jukebox has a field for BPM but all my songs are blank in that field. Does CDDB have this in their database?

I even looked at some of those pre-made exercise CD's but most of them have truly awful pop songs and mostly are under the BPM speed I want. (about 155 to 165bpm)

Thanks in advance.

Try a software called tangerine! the exclamation mark is crucial. There is another software with a similar name, so you need to be careful about it.
