360 is getting 1080 p on a update through live and an hddvd drive!!
PS3 also costs a lot!!!!!
360 is way better!!!!!!!
It's stupid to debate on what consoles copied from other consoles. I'm sure the basis of your argument came from the PS3 controller using motion-sensors like the Wii controller. First of all, the use of motion-sensors on the PS3 controller isn't used to the extent it's used on the Wii controller. It's meant to enhance gameplay, while the Wii's motion-sensors are meant to be used for more direct control of the games. Second, you can't say Sony copied the motion-sensor idea right after Nintendo came out with it. Sony would have been developing this technology way before Nintendo revealed it for their console. Also, the premise of saying one console stole the idea of another is stupid. If a new idea works, other companys will use it for their products as well. By the same logic used to say the PS3 stole the motion-sensor idea from the Wii, you can say that XBOX stole the idea of using DVD disks to store their games from the PS2.
P.S. About the 1080p update for the 360. Although this update will allow the games to be displayed at 1080p, the quality from the upconverting will not look as good as it would if the game was made to run natively at 1080p.
Both systems will be good.
If you like FPS games, get the 360...if you like RPGs and platformers, get the PS3 since 1080p will only really be used for cutscenes that are mostly in those types of games.
I hate RPGs (usually) so I probably won't be getting the PS3 since I think Blu-ray will tank in the format wars. But PS3 will still be a good system.
I commend you for keeping Nintendo out of this thread. They really are a step away (above or otherwise) from other consoles and shouldn't be classified with the others.
But really, console decisions should be based on what games you like. Yeah, the 360 is best for FPS fans, and Playstation has always been an RPG system, no matter what the generation of games.
I think the Wii just needs time before the FPS warms up to it, considering that developers are just getting used to the standards that go behind making games for this system. It's a matter of getting their bearings and seeing what works and what doesn't. It's a whole new step in gaming, so they've got to change their ways of thinking somewhat.
from what I have read Sony only came out with the Six-axis or whatever it is until a week before e3 when they saw the wii...
By his logic we could say that they all suck because the copied the idea of making video game consoles from Magnavox.
The guy who made playstation franchise clearly stated that the PS3 is the last playstation, last console from Sony, so yeah whatever, even if it does get better in a few years, playstation is still dead. You playstation fanboys better get your thrills from the ps3, becuase it will be your last, EVER. Just for the record, Microsoft is already working on a new Xbox, either way Xbox wins. PERIOD.
Are you referring to the rumored X Box Ultimate that's supposed to be released in 2008? Lets see, it's supposed to have a built in HD-DVD player and a 320GB hard drive. It sounds like Microsoft is now trying to play catch up with the PS3. However it hasn't been stated whether it will have a built in power supply or Wi-Fi, like the PS3. Also Warner Bros just stuck another knife into HD-DVD to day by announcing that they will now be Blue-Ray exclusive.
