I'm selling my computer / I want to cleanse all data

I'm going to sell my computer and I want to ensure there's zero information on it about me--the potential fall out of identity theft is just too huge. I think I want to take out the hard disk out and just sell it for parts-- but does the hard disk contain ALL of the information about the user? Or do I have to do anything else to cleanse the comp of all the data?

See google for DBAN. It's free and will wipe it clean. Very clean.
