neither

Nah, an Onyx DS-Lite + a bunch 'o games for me.

I already HAVE an HD gaming system in my PC workstation.

The Wii does have its appeal, but I'll wait some time to see how the title selection, firmware upgrades, network gaming, and vintage gaming support shakes out. I must admit a great desire to do a "Zeldafest" by re-playing Zelda I, Ocarina of Time, and Wind Waker, over again.

- What's your current internet connection (cable, ADSL, dial-up)?
- Do you want it wireless or wired?
- Do you already have wireless?
- Do you have router?

I've got a Wii (had it since Christmas) and still enjoy it. I kind of agree with Veronica on it though. They REALLY need to get some better games (and especially online multiplayer) soon or it's staying power could be limited.

If I had to get another console, it would be an Xbox360.

I still use my PC more for gaming though. And I'm counting the days (without knowing exactly when I'll have to stop counting) for Half-Life 2: Episode 2 to come out. I'm sure the single-player HL2 will be fine, but I can't wait for Team Fortress 2. I still play the original (an 8 year old game) a couple times a week. Fantastic, light-hearted fun and gaming at its finest.

It's the gameplay that counts

Blu Ray player, with gaming as a bonus, good deal.

360 hits the sweet spot

by robstak - 8/13/07 5:30 AM In reply to: Wii, PS3, or 360? by adl139

PS3 is a great system, but is kinda expensive. plus personally, the PS3 exclusive games aren't really enticing to me.

Wii is totally fun and priced low enough to be a secondary console, but for major gaming it just doesn't cut it (ever try COD3 on Wii... guh!)

the 360 is older than the other two, but you not only get great microsoft titles (halo, fable, etc), you now have cross-platform gaming, an ever depening repository of classic arcade games, tv shows, HD movies WITHOUT having to buy an HD drive (downloads), plus its a windows media extender. Now I know the PS3 can at least do some of these, but are they as good? I might argue not.

Again, I think all 3 are just great. But for a 26yo FPS player, 360 is the console to beat (unless you have a $5,000 PC)

PS3 isn't just a console....

by Invierno1894 - 12/28/07 7:09 PM In reply to: how about all of them? by Exnie

PS3 is a computer that can do Blu-Ray (blu-ray drive can also do dvd, cd, many more that you wouldn't even know about-unless a geek), Online, Games, Online gaming, music (cd's or music on hard drive, or music on external device hooked up to it such as hard drive or flash drive or memory card), photos (once again, on any external device), you can also change a stockpile of settings, set up individual accounts for everyone in your family to separate your data!!! Playstation network allows you to download old ps games such as crash bandicoot all the way to ps3 games such as warhawk, the only thing that I have not successfully done yet is write up spreadsheets, can the wii or 360 do spreadsheets? And go through and see which of all of those I just listed actually can be done with the wii or 360. Before you say, "oh great, another dumbass fanboy", I'm only sort of one for knowing these facts. The truth is... I only know all this because... I OWN A PS3. imagine...100gb of space so far on a blu-ray disc in the stores now. Sony is working on a 200gb that looks like it will indeed succeed. But once again, this is only to persuade you, believe what you may.

So where are we today?

I'm in the market for one of these and I'm curious if all the Wii lovers still love their system. This thread is over a year old, so there must have been some new developments somewhere!
