When my desktop first loads everything in my task bar looks fine. Start, Quick Launch and Desktop toolbars. After all of my startup programs load I lose the arrow to expand the Quick Launch list of shortcuts.
I don't recall making any changes to the toolbar settings or adding a new program that might affect the Quick Launch. I haven't been able to catch which start-up program loads when it dissappears.
I am Puzzled. How can I get it back? Does anyone know how to fix this?
I'm also interested in the fix to return the "Show Desktop" to the Quicklaunch. I've used one before but can not recall how I did it or where the fix camefrom.
Upon further investigation I have found that I had turned Google Desktop Search back on. I have it set up to pop up as a side bar but somehow the taskbar toolbar selection was also ticked. That ended the Quick Launch expansion problem. Wo Woo!
By browsing the forums I was reminded of the site "Kelly's Korner"
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm
that has "Taskbar Repair Tool Plus!" that can help with may other problems. This reinstates the "Show Desktop" shortcut to QL as well as a few other tweaks and corrections.
I guess I just needed a little inspiration by visiting here!
I hope this helps someone else.
