to repair or not to repair????

by kentpaul_65102 - 12/26/07 1:59 PM

i have a FujiFilm E900 and i dropped it on hard rock while the lens was maxed out. So there is significant damage done to the zoom ring, as expected. FujiFilm says they will repair it for %100. With all the new cameras coming out I feel entitled to buy one but I do love my E900 very dearly and love its performance. But to get new camera I can shell out an extra $50 and I can get like a decent camera like the Canon SD1000. I am in a dilemma right now, please help!!!!

You can buy a new Fujifilm E900 for $219.
Example: http://www.beachcamera.com/shop/product.aspx?omid=108&ref=cnet&utm_source=CNET&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=FJFPE900&sku=FJFPE900

While the Canon SD1000 is a nice camera, it does not have all the features of the E900.

A better choice would be the Canon A570.
It has manual controls and image stabilization.
It sells for about $175.
