by oliviatuh - 12/14/07 7:15 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I have been playing video games with my kids and grandkids for over 20 years. I recently have been playing Halo3 on XBox 360 with my grandson, Tyler. We also play on XBox. I have completed games such as Far Cry, Splinter Cell, James Bond, Halo, Halo2 etc. We also had a blast with the Wii console games. Mostly bowling and baseball.

by daxx4 - 12/14/07 7:23 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

We do not have a console but I play Lego Star Wars PC version with my 4 and 6 year old boys. They are pretty good but they call mom when they need to get somewhere hard.

No, my kids are too good for me to compete with.

by GoodTimeCharlie - 12/14/07 8:19 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

My kids are late teenagers (one is 17, one turns & 20 tomorrow) and have out played me for years due to quicker reflexes, etc. ... I just can't compete anymore. Bummer because some of the games are/were really quite fun!

Both my wife and I play Videos games with the grand kids

by Dango517 - 12/14/07 8:29 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Video games have brought us a lot of pleasure over the years. Wish I could get my Dad to play. He would make four generations. We've come a long way since Pong and Space Invaders. I'm eye balling Crysis right now but need a controler first maybe Santa will bring it for me.

Dear Santa,

Please bring Dango517 an Xbox 360 game controler for his Vista computer this year. I have been good, sort of. :D

Cnet please forward to the North Pole

Video games!

by mssolange - 12/14/07 9:29 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

My kids are older and are pretty hardcore gamers. So I get a comfy seat and play armchair quarterback. I love it when they play live its a lot of fun. I get into the story lines and strategies. I don't have the ability to play on that level but I can watch it intelligently.

There needed to be a fifth option

by aka_tripleB - 12/14/07 10:58 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I do not have kids. I don't have a special someone yet either, so it a good thing I don't have kids yet. And I think I'm still too young for grandkids could even be possible.

PS3

by lisabrencis39 - 12/14/07 11:45 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Yes, I play with my 17-year-old daughter and my husband. She's way better at Guitar Hero than I am but I can whip her butt (and hubby's)at Grand Turismo, any one. And why do I like the PS3? I have so incredibly many PS2 and PS1 games that I love the backwards compatability.

Yes PS3 and PSP with my 5 year old.

by tubejay - 12/15/07 7:14 AM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I'm a gamer at heart, and the first game my son has shown any real interest in is Lego Star Wars for the PSP and now the PS3 (we bought both because he loved the PSP game so much). He absolutely loves it, and the puzzle solving in the game is fantastic for developing logic skills. When he started out he couldn't figure anything out and was constantly asking for help, and a month later he was figuring out complicated puzzles on his own. I highly recommend this game as a very good starter game for kids, and it's great fun for me too.

My son and I have also been playing the new Burnout Paradise game demo on the PS3 as well, and that game has been great fun for us.

The reason I think the best value lies in the PS3 is because it has things for kids and adults, gamer and non gamer alike. The PS3 happens to be the BluRay movie player and best high definition movie player period at the moment. So even if you don't game, and your kids do, you can get use out of the system as a high def movie player for your HDTV, and the picture is nothing short of spectacular. I mean, it's really great. I'm a movie buff, and a gaming buff, so this machine is just the ultimate for me, and I've never been happier with a piece of electronics.

The PS3 also happens to be the best picture viewing device if you have an HDTV. Nothing beats a crystal clear 46" view of your pictures. Nothing.

Play games with the kids....

by Bonatay - 12/15/07 2:53 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I would like to but don't know how. They don't want to give up the controls to let me play. It looks like a lot of fun. I'm about to review the article on Wii or not to Wii. I may have to buy a game that me and my friends can play and let them see how it feels. :)

by juli1961 - 12/15/07 5:01 PM In reply to: Poll: Parents: Do you play video games with your kids? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

My son and I played video games together from the Supernintendo through t.he 64, the ps, dreamcast, ps2, and the game cube. Unfortunately, he is no longer around for me to play. However, we played everything from the mortal kombat series to the final fantasy series. I have continued playing because it keeps him close
