My Treo and Blackberry mysteriously call people in the middle of the night and sometimes during the day(randomly). Has anyone else experienced this type of auto dialing? If so, aside from locking the keyboard (which I've already done) can you suggest other solutions?
You could always just turn it off at night. No idea what might be causing the problem.
For over a year, I had the same problem you have. Both going in and going out. People would call me asking if I had just called them, or my phone would ring once then nothing. If I called the number from the single ring, the person would of course deny it. My provider, Verizon, was clueless as to the cause. I ignored it for a while as it only happened once or twice a month. Then the frquency increased alot to sometimes twice or three times a day. I began jotting down the number and time each time it happened. After a week of incidents I called Verizon and game them my info. Again, I got a big shrug and a mild apology. I ended up talking to a senior tech and together we came up with a possible theoretical problem: the computer system that updates cell phones location was somehow calling the phones with the previous number stored in its buffer. About a month after this conversation, my mysterious calls stopped. Hope this info helps.
Chances are your keyboard on both phones (yes this is possible) are damaged and causing your devices to make calls. It could be a software glitch, but highly unlikely.
Think about it. Unless your call log has these numbers in its outgoing log, its not the phone. It is your providers system burping on a glitch. Additionally, if you have incoming random calls, it can't possibly be your phone at all.
