Hi,
I read your advice about getting a S panel on a samsung 226BW monitor and would like to know how to tell whether this monitor model has a S, A, or C panel. I looked on the exterior, took a panel off the back, and read the documents but still don't know. Neither Circuit City or Samsung seemed to know--or reveal--the answer. This would be a big expense for me, so I want to get it right. Thanks for answering.

Crt might be old and bulky- but in this case of technology the newer isnt better. Crt's might be big and bulky but they have astoungding resolutions that cannot be touched by lcd's! so if i wanted to go bigger then i would go with projector because they have the same resolution as expensive lcd's and plasmas but can go much bigger.
....a five year old HP Pavilion MX75 17 inch flat screen CRT. It has worked without a hitch for the whole time. I will be soon getting a new Vista based computer, and am half considering keeping the existing CRT monitor, if I can get the proper connectivity and drivers with the new machine. On the other hand, my eyesight is not great and the newer, larger LCD/TFT monitors are attractive. Maybe I will get a new one and keep the existing one (I do have the desk space for both). Do you think I will be able to reuse my existing monitor with a Vista based machine?
The old 17" monitor should work but in some things size does matter. My "main monitor" is now a 37" Westinghouse at 1920x1080. My old 22" Mitsubishi w.Spectra-View monitors (2) are only fired up for final tweaking of graphics projects. Once you use a larger monitor, you will not ever want to go back.
Translation, 24" Widescreen (silver) to match my MacPro which used to be hooked up to my HDTV 32" Sony Bravia. My older computer (which I still own) is a 20" imac. I also have a 3 or 4 year old Gateway Profile with a 17". Yes, I am one person with 3 computers.
I have a Dell 24-inch monitor that is connected to my Macbook and a PC desktop. I can't name one thing that I don't like about it. At one point, I had my Xbox 360 hooked up to it and I often watch movies and TV shows. It's excellent for multitasking and reading my online magazines.
