I was wonder how these two measure up to each other. I'm stuck on which one to choose. I'll be using one of these players to mostly view videos.
I own the Meizu M6 and video playback on it isn't what I'd call top notch. One, you have to convert to divx, which can be annoying, since sometimes the video gets distorted if the conversion isn't done well. The D2 accepts more file types, and its screen looks better than the Meizu. I'd say the M6 is more of a MP3 player, namely for audio than an all purpose type of player. On a side note, the D2 also has the SD expansion which is useful for video since they have much larger file sizes than music files.
Thanks for the advice.
id go for the m6 because of price its alot cheaper i think an 8gb is about 160 on ebay or amazon while the d2 only comes in 2gb and 4gb for like 160 and 180 i think.
Don't know anything really about the M6, but recently just got a D2 and am loving it.
Paid $175 for both the 4GB version plus a 4GB SDHC card at zipzoomfly.
My only reservation when getting it was lack of storage, but I like that it integrates everything on the internal and external memory on your lists (unlike some other players) and I figure the price of 16GB SDHC cards will come down quit a bit in the future.
Have been using it while traveling to play movies on hotel TVs. Video quality when doing that isn't great, but very watchable- I'd say VHS quality.
If still considering, ask questions about the D2 and I'll try and answer.
I'm going by what he plans to use the player for, D2 is a much better video and all around player than the meizu. Don't get me wrong here, I really enjoy my M6 but I really don't think it matches up to the D2 when it comes to video playback. Also, the D2 doesn't need to worry about lack of internal memory when it can take up to 16 GB SDHC cards. There is an 8gb version out for the D2 now as well, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16855228013 for 210. It's more expensive than the M6, but I'd tip the hat to the D2 for video purposes, even though all your points are valid.
