I'm talking about a printer hooked directly to my computer via usb
port.
Os: Windows xp pro.
I'm trying to stop a user/sister from blowing all my ink of worthless crap...i swear she can sniff out that new ink cartridges were loaded.
Have you tried asking her to stop? Often times a simple direct solution is best. Otherwise, get her to chip in for the replacement cartridges if she's going to be printing a lot of stuff.
It's just too easy to bypass XP's permissions if you know what you're doing, so you can't really rely on them.
The Security tab to change the printer permissions will only show if you PRESS AND HOLD DOWN CTRL while right clicking and selecting properties.
Now either remove this account from the list or revoke everyone and add your selected accounts.
