How about a National Energy Program spear headed with a major ethanol conversion program. Tax free investing in Ethanol Plants for twenty years would also be a highlight of the plan. This coupled with serious energy conservation Tax Breaks for families and business to update there appliances and insulate there homes and purchase appropriate vehicles. Along with new laws to curb the auto industry sprawling vehicle designs. All to insure the National security and reduce the threat of Global Warming.
I will not give you a node regarding the advance of the nuclear agenda, however. Sorry Charlie, still "No Nukes".
Hey, I wouldn't argue with any of that. I'm all for a major energy program. The status quo just isn't good enough anymore. (Check out my Friday column, btw http://www.news.com/we-need-a-manhattan/2010-13836_3-6220832.html) I think we agree more than disagree. Still, I think any future energy program should take a fresh look at nuclear.
Unlike in years past I am only voting on one issue and one issue only, you guessed it. Whomever presents the best policy on energy gets my Presidential vote. How about you Charlie, want in on this action?
reminds me in a way of jack palance's character in the movie, "city slickers." i don't think it'll be just this one issue - but yeah, the candidate i vote for is going to have to give a good accounting of himself/herself on the energy question.
I hadn't thought of Jack in a very long time. I liked him very much. Is he still alive? Sorry I haven't seen that movie or at least I can't remember it at the moment.
When I consider the world that I have lived in. The world I live in now and the World my decedents will live in this becomes the issue holding precedence over all the rest. All other issues pale compared to it. Think it through and you might agree and change your mind.
Start with the UN IPCC report on global warming found here:

unfortunately, he passed a year ago:

I remember him best in this

You might remember this one

i never saw that gladiator clip. perfect. my most enduring palance memory, i think, is when he got down and performed one-handed pushups at the oscars.
Did see it referenced while searching for the clips
