I have a wireless network with a XP desktop and a Vista laptop. I would like to copy "My Documents" folder from my desktop to my laptop, so I can access all the files in "My Documents" folder on my laptop while I am away from home and not have to leave my desktop turned on. I can of course access "My Documents" on my laptop wirelessly when I am in range, my house, and my desktop turned on. I have tried several times but unable to figure it out, as I am not real knowledgeable yet with a wireless network. I would sure appreciate a step wise help to my problem. Thank you
Network Magic should help. Though it is only a free trial for 14 days, after that it's $30. Just install it on both of your computers, disable any firewalls (or add Network Magic to the trusted list), and you should see your other computers and documents.

You say you can access the My Documents folder on the desktop from the laptop, so what happens when you try to copy it? Error message? If so, exact and full text of message, please.
all you need to do is set up file sharing, and copy ur my documents folder into the shared documents folder. then you can copy at will as all the contents of the shared folder will show up on the network.
