Problem with my MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ-850S ATA Device...
by adrian785 - 12/4/07 8:27 AMHi, My laptop comes with the above mention DVD-RAM. It has recently stop working. When I insert a CD/DVD it just wont read. When i double click on it, nothing happen. I've been searching for the driver for this device but failed to find it. By the way, my laptop's running on Window Vista Home Basic.

Why not let them fix it?
As to the driver, there is none since it's native to the OS. I wonder how many hours people have put in trying to find this driver?

Do you suggest that I send my laptop back to Compaq and ask them to replace the whole drive? If they are no drivers for this drive with Vista OS then do you think they would change to a different model for me?
No they won't change the model used.

As to the driver I think you are confused here. There is no driver to be found since it's part of Vista. So there is no need to find a driver on the internet.
