I bought a new notebook some time ago running Windows Vista Home Premium and everything was working quite well until I decided to finally try to connect my Palm TREO 680. I installed the BETA software recommended by Palm and then plugged it in, but Vista just sent a message about "USB NOT RECOGNIZED"... Now, each time I plug in ANY KIND of USB Devices, Vista gives the same error.
I've been googling around for a solution, but none of the available seem to work. You can imagine the size of a pain it should be to try to go through life without USB, can somebody please help?
System:
Acer Aspire 5100
AMD Turion 64X2 1.60 GHZ
2 GB Ram / 32-Bit
WIN VISTA HOME PREMIUM
Thank You Very Much!
It still has a SYSTEM RESTORE feature to roll back to when it worked. It looks to me the beta software is DOA. I will share I installed Hotsync and it does work over bluetooth. I haven't tried to connect my Treo 650 via USB.

The real problem is that I installed that software about a month ago and there are no available restore points to that date. I already bought an Iphone to get rid of my TREO (I'm wondering if I just bought more trouble), but anyway thanks for the advice on updating the TREO.
Thank you very much!
