I have a 30GB Creative Zen Vision M and love it. The darn thing is pretty tough, (dropped it on concrete) sounds great, the FM tuner works surprisingly well, and the battery will allow me to play music all night without kicking the bucket.
I use the Sansa E250. It is great. I do not like the Ipod.
Basically, what music I DO have - quite a lot - is either on CD or Vinyl, I don't always want music on (and certainly not what's called "music" today). Most of the stuff I have is either brass or pipe band or even classical music, believe it or not I even have some jazz.
I once saw a comment on today's "music" and "dancing" the comment was "nightly epilepsy to music", I think that sums it up.
As far as getting an MP3 player or something similar to listen to my music on the way home, no thanks, I DO NOT WANT that sort of thing, I prefer to wind down myself. I will not deny that I have listened to music (my sort) when I'm travelling, but certainly NOT on the way home from work!
The present "idea" of a flash MP3 is just another gimmick, and bound to be overly expensive. If you want music (any style) you don't need these, just some common sense.
i use a creative zen sleek photo but i just bought a zen vision m so i will be selling the sleek. if you want to buy the sleek look at my amazon listing (garymartens price = $84) i love creatives!
i use my nokia6085 with a 1g flash card has and it has an fm tuner as well all my devices in 1 package
I have the Bang & Olufsen MP3/WMA player. The best sound in the world, the only problem is that it has no screen so you must group the songs very well in order to find them. It supports SD cards, you can fit around 3000 songs at 64 kbps on a 4 GB card. You can download their player from their website it is very elegant and useful to manage the music and pictures.
They will sell a new MP3 player at the end of the year with a screen, go to see it when it's out.
I also sometimes use my BlackBerry curve with a mini SD card but the sound of the B&O is too good to be replaced.
I really wish someone had thought to put MP3- (and WMA-) compatible portable CD players into the choices. I bought a RIO Volt a few years ago and it does everything I need. I can take dozens of hours of music and books on a couple of CD-RWs. It's portable and it plays MP3s. What am I missing?
I use an iPod, it's by far the best. It is my bulk digital photo holder when it's not being used to listen to talking books in my truck. It's a 60 gig player, it will holds more songs, books, and pics than I have time to listen too and or look at.
It may cost more but it's cheaper by far in the long run. It's like having a small computer in your pocket. I have never questioned my self about the cost. Then again I have never questioned myself after I bought my iMac either, from which I listen to iTunes.
Well mine is HP Pavilion dv6000. By the way remember the cool game Universe at War Earths Assault.
to do your long-distance running (for example) with a laptop to listen to mp3's to distract you.

I have owned every mp3 player in the book and the zune is the best! Get a zune! Do not listen to them! 3.2 inch screen! Custom Backgrounds! Beautiful interface! Awesome ear buds! AND SO MUCH MORE! BUY A ZUNE!
I don't need my music that badly. It's not worth it for the price. I just listed on my PC. I also don't like them becasue they put you in a different world and you have a harder time of knowing whats around you.
I have recently bought i-mate PDAL as my PDA Device for meeting all my needs. It is powered by Windows Mobile 5 operating system. It has a very good synchronisation with the PC and everything is so descriptive and easy to use.
I have been looking at all the different brands and capacities that are available. My biggest question is how often would I use it. I don't necessarily need an IPod, but I am liking the IPod shuffle more and more. I like the sizes and colors they come in, but I would like to use a secure digital disk for recording and listening to carry various types of music on each disk. Then, I like the size of the Shuffle because it weighs next to nothing and i can carry it easily, even on an arm band or clip it on my shirt or belt. I really just need to try one out to see if it would stick for me, rather than just become another piece of pc compatible equipment on the shelf.
Currently I am using Windows Media Player on my pc and a small boom box with am/fm radio, cd player and tape player, which is not as portable as i would like.
