the camera is listed in the US @ $350 +/-, i found it in the UK for $178! which seems to be amazingly cheap (considering what it has to offer)...
question: is this the deal of a lifetime or a lemon?

Are you sure the price isn't 178 pounds (it is a UK site, right)? That would come to about $360, well in line with US prices.
and the price has dropped almost $10 in the last week!

i asked a friend in the UK to check the price for me, if it's right, then i may just be temted ![]()

If it seems too good to be true . . . it probably is.
Their website says that their minimum order is 1,000 Euro.
No credit cards......just bank transfers.

Hi Jonah,
As an American who has been living in Europe a long time and also interested in the Panasonic Lumix FZ18, I can tell you that as the old saying goes" If it sounds too good to be true it probably is. I was looking all over Germany where I am living and that Camera is selling for about 400 Euros which is almost $600. Its been my experience that electronics in general are more expensive in Europe than the US and the Euro exchange rate is horrible.
I would never trust a company that wants bank transfers only. There is no kind of consumer protection. Beware!
But if you are interested in this camera, I would say go for it. My parents brought this camera over for me as a present and I say that it is fantastic. I would definetly pay for it if I had to. I've had this camera for 3 weeks and it is a great camera for those who just wish to point and shoot to those who want to learn more.
I hope that helps.
John
yep..... i would love to buy it, but even the $350 (US price) is a little steep for me these days, that's why i jumped when i saw the price they quoted....
a friend in the UK sent me a link to Camerabox which he says is the cheapest price in the UK...
235GBP=328Euro=$485, all this when it's $350 in the USofA.....
oh well, another day will dawn

I am from Ireland. I bought from www.electronics-dream.com a Pioneer PDP5080HD Plasma TV and I received it in 4 days. The thing is that the minimum order they accept is 1,000EUR. They won`t accept your order if it is lower.
