Simply the best. Effective and efficient. Unlike McAfee, did not nearly bring my PC to a halt with 100% CPU usage
I have used ZA products for several years when I started out with the free firewall and then a couple years ago moving up to the full internet security suite. I have been very pleased with it.
So far so good
Get rid of it before it destroys your system by utilizing all of your resources. Norton is a memory hog and it does a terrible job of protecting your system. You may want to uninstall it and install comodo firewall and Avast anti-virus. These two applications alone will make a big difference in protecting your system. There are others i recommend, but this is a start to replacing Norton.

I had Norton 2003, which was great, but I looked at the new Norton Antivirus and it looked like bloatware. Protector Plus scans quick, it's easy and updates every day.
I've used most of these products. Currently, I use CA eTrust at work and bitdefender at home while my wife has NOD 32 at home and Norton AV at work. I evaluate based on 2 criteria, as follows:
1. Do I get viruses?
2. Does this software cause operational problems (Crashes or performance impact)
Best to Worst:
NOD 32 Quick DB updates, NO Crashes or Performance hits, AND NO VIRUSES
CA eTrust Quick DB Updates, NO Crashes, some performance impact, NO VIRUSES
Norton AV Slower DB Updatres, No Crashes, frequent noticable performance impact, couple Viruses snuck through.
Bit Defender Slow DB Updates, Crashes XP, BIG Performance impact, NO VIRUSES
I use McAfee, but I perfer Kaspersky, I just haven't bought Kaspersky yet. Kaspersky was rated #1 by PCWORLD.

I have tried McAfee and it crapped out every couple of weeks so I tried AVG. It was OK but now I use Avast which runs without hogging resources and has auto updates. None of the 4 machines we have at home have had any problems since installing and running Avast. It is free and all they ask is that you register your copy.

I have been using AVG for about a year. I like it because it works fine and it's free. I used McAfee for a couple of years. I hated getting tons of emails telling me that it was time to re-up. They would start a couple of months before my time was up. I don't have that problem with AVG.
Use AntiVir at my full satisfaction
My Personal opinion from experience, all anti-virus and related software are good in it's own way.Choosing the right one for u can be tricky and may take some time. The best way to choose a right one for a particular purpose is to give the most rated, and popular ones a shot.Having a anti-virus on your system even if its recommended and rated as the best,is not sufficient in today's world. The internet is very nasty, and do not choose networks or machines, anybody and everybody is vunerable to malware and potent malitious software.I learned that having a exellent anti-virus plus a spy and ad-ware program, enhances protection.Having a spybot program as a bonus just ups your security and keeps your machine clean, wth a good firewall to help unwanted software coming through.
choosing the most popular is a very wrong approach if you think that will do the job. Norton and Mcafee are nothing short of awful and memory hogs at that. Avast and Antivir are the best two free anti-virus tools you can find. Of course i would never stop u from doing what you want, but after 30+ years i am giving you my professional experience.

the best antivirus is now Kaspersky. It is amazingly remove viruses but removes data. what to do now ?
It probably removed a file which contained a virus. AV options in a good program will include repair as well as delete.
Microsoft has worked had to remove the distinction that MS Word and MS Excel were at one time responsible for alegedly being used to transport more than 75% of viruses between computers.
Most AntiVirus programs would prevent the files from being put into your computer, or deleted them when they were found. The better AV programs would first attempt to repair the file by removing the virus from it, and only if repair could not be done would then delete the file.
Look at your AV program activity report. Does it show that a virus was contained in the data which was deleted?
I have always been using Norton Internet Security.. and apart from some glitches I am happy with it. However I hear more and more complaints about Norton... and I may consider to switch to other free software. Some experience of McAfee and AVG (on borrowed computers)left me very scheptical qbout them...
