Or anything with VGA cables for that matter. I have some old 8mm, 16mm and VHS's I want to put on the dvd I am piecing together. What do you guys recommend to easily do this?
Try ATI, Hauppaugge...
There are a few ways to do this.
There are places you can send off or give your VHS'S to and they convert them to dvd then you can put that in your computer and mess with that
OR
you can go out and buy a VHS/DVD "Recorder" and follow the instructions that came with the product
OR
you can just buy a DVD Recorder if you already have a VHS Player and plug the Video and Audio plugs into the "IN" ports on your recorder
OR
you can buy an RCA Card to slot into your computer and plug an exsisting VHS Player into that
--jono--
It can easily be done with the help of a VHS player and a TV tuner/ Video capture card such as pinnacle, which will receive the feed from VHS player and on to computer. The resultant AVI files can be converted to MPEG 1 for VCD or MPEG2 for DVD with the help of Pinnacle/ U Lead software etc. An alternate method could be real time analogue to digital conversion, which some camcorders are capable of.
will a tv tuner pci card feed vhs onto the hard drive?
When you sai PCI Tv tuner do you mean the cind that plugs into an arial so you can watch live TV on the computer or a video card with RCA an RCA IN (Red, White and Yellow cables)
if it is the video card the answer is yes, you can save it onto the computer
a pci card that i can connect a coaxle cable (from the vcr) to....
I think both type of connections should work
