On today's BOLcast (604, for those counting), Molly wished for a Serenity/Firefly comic book by Joss Whedon.
One already exists:

She also asked about comic book pirates.
Some people (Rich Johnson comes to mind) have written about comic pirating via bittorrent, but the general industry belief is that pirating is negligible because small type and/or detailed artwork on a computer screen isn't as fun as a hold-in-your-hands book.
The greater impact the internet has had on the comic industry has been in the form of webcomics.
Please, BOL community, correct me if I'm wrong about any of this.

2 major file types .CBR and .CBZ (Rar and Zip Comic Book Archives{of jpegs}). There are comic book viewer programs to view the archive files.
They are scanned versions of comics... Generally in pretty high definition.

So, Joss is doing another Firefly comic, set before the movie called "Better Days".
It's very heartening to see that the fans are still interested, with more browncoat converts by the day. Also as a recent convert myself I now see references and mentions of Firefly everywhere on the internet. Firefly is like a secret that was right in front of me all along, a wonderful, brilliant secret that I wish I had noticed sooner.
"You can't stop the signal".
