I'm looking to buy a DSLR that's pretty reasonable in price for taking dusk to night scenic shots. What are some recommendations? Thanks.
Night scenes are not difficult for any DSLR camera.
They do require some knowledge on the photographers part.
And a tripod is a must.
Any of the low cost DSLR cameras will do.

Canon generate the least noise when shooting at the dim light. For the reasonable price, I suggest 2 models. Either Canon 400D ( Rebel XTi ) or 40D will serve you well. But, spare your money for a tripod and a bright lense as well. Don't get them all at once. Find out what you really need and shoot mostly. Good luck.
thanks for the suggestion.
Your best bet at shooting low light, is with a Nikon D200. It has the greatest flexablity with light modulation. Now that is only refering to the cheap consumer cameras that they discuss on cnet. They are for the most part blinded by unreasonable bias for Cannon, one of the poorest DSLRs on the market including their full frame model. The Father and Son from Texass don't have a clue.
probably not what you are looking for.
Most people who prefer either Nikon or Canon will concede that both Nikon and Canon make excellent cameras. That should put "mrobzob's" comments in perspective.
IMHO, Canon has the lead right now in the area of low light performance. This is particularly true in the price range you are looking at.
The sharpness and noise level when shooting with high ISO of Nikon D200, can't any way beat Canon 40D. How about technology, 12bit of Nikon D200 vs 14bit of Canon 40D ? The color bit depth is significantly different ! Besides, the sales price of Canon 40D looks more charming than Nikon D200, even the camera will soon get obsolete ! Anyone here be the judge !
