I was listening to today's episode in my podcast feed, and it cut off at the 5:40 mark. Did this happen to anyone else?
Seems to play fine for me from the link in the RSS feed. How are you guys listening to this show? I'd love to know how to replicate the problem....
Is it through iTunes? The bol.cnet.com flash player?
it was just our slow servers then? Did you attempt to download it right when it was posted?
I try to make sure that the entire podcast loads properly for me before I ever publish the XML/the player on bol.cnet.com cause I've noticed if I jump the gun, sometimes an incomplete podcast will get sent out to everyone (even though it's there in it's entirety about 5 minutes later...)
I get mine through Google Reader and it cut out at 5:40, I also tried it from the CNET front page and it cut out at about the same time.
Nope it was fine for me it when the whole show for me.
Yes, there was something wrong with the mp3 when the podcast was uploaded. The problem wasn't with iTunes, but with the mp3 file itself. It's possible the mp3 file was cut short or whatever. But, it appears this issue was corrected later. No, you weren't the only one with this issue. If the mp3 had been corrupted fully, it probably wouldn't have played at all. So, I'm chalking this up to technical problem when the podcast was first published.
Of course, iTunes doesn't really like downloading the same podcast a second time, so if a mistake was made and then corrected in the same podcast, iTunes wouldn't see this. So, CNET would have to publish an entirely new corrected podcast so that iTunes would see that it's new and download the podcast again.
