archos 605 (first charge)

by lloyd877 - 11/1/07 6:13 AM

How long is the first charge supposed to take or how long does it normally take?

Post 2 of 23

well

the device already comes with a full charge from the factory so I don't know what you mean by first charge
but a full charge from a drained battery over USB is pretty slow, I think it was about 7 hrs. If you have an accessory to use a wall outlet (whether directly or from a DVR attachment or similar) it takes around 3-4hrs from drained

7 hrs?

It has been a lot longer then 7 hrs.

iPods are much quicker in charging,

by BeatleMegaFan - 11/1/07 3:31 PM In reply to: 7 hrs? by lloyd877

but let's not debate against my biased opinions ;-) . Charging over USB is never as good as direct wall outlets. As a many gadget owner and operator, I can say get an adapter.

(NT) Defective battery? Perhaps Archos can get you some support?

I plugged it into a different outlet so It is doing better now and is actually charging so we will see what happens.

Supposing it works right now, maybe your outlet is defective

by BeatleMegaFan - 11/1/07 4:32 PM In reply to: Well by lloyd877

and not the Archos itself. A USB port on one of my monitors doesn't work at all, so I only have one other to connect my iPod dock to. Similar I guess. Maybe your breaker or something flipped a switch or you need to check your wiring for that particular socket.
Have fun with the 605.

Well I don't have it yet but you just buy it then download it to the archos then use the wifi that you have set up and then it works great as a web browser is what I hear or you can also buy it right from the device I believe.
