Outlook email times are wrong - how to fix?

by Cycle Myth - 11/2/07 4:06 PM

When sending or receiving emails the time stamp is out by a good margin.

I have checked the clock setup for the pc which is spot on.

Even when I send and email to myself and it comes through immediately it says it was sent hours before hand!

Any thoughts?

The time fix is in there but...

after this weekend, they'll be back on track.

Could the timestamp be in GMT?

There are similar complaints about the timestamps on recorded CDs.

Wrong time stamp. ?

Are you in the correct "Time Zone" (Control Panel>Time & Date) and "Regional Settings" ? If you are in Australia but have set your time zone as England, you will be sending mails some 10 hours+ "earlier" !

Not an Answer - But Another Place to Look

Is the Outlook client sending through an Exchange server? Would the time stamp on the message come from the Exchange server or some other message-handling component (mail gateway, firewall)?

What is the time stamp when a message comes to your workstation (Outlook client) from another computer within your network? from a computer outside your network? When you send a message to another individual, either within your network or outside, what is the time stamp?

Determining the answers to these questions might help you locate the problem. Good luck.
