Why does Winzip remain more popular than Winrar considering the following facts:
Winrar 3.71 is a 1.15mb download; Winzip 11.0 is 7.3mb.
I get much better compression from the lowest setting in Winrar(fastest) than I
do with Winzip set to best.
In fact, Winrar beats my favorite crypto software Kremlin.
"Note: The implementation of RC4 in Kremlin 2.21 and earlier contains bugs. These bugs are fixed in Kremlin 3.0. "
Really!? That's nice to hear.
And how do I know Kremlin 3.0 does _not_ contain any
more bugs?
Why does 'secure delete' still come up eventhough I
unchecked it in options?
Why does it merge all selected files into one file, and names as last selected file name?
does NOT create self-extracting exe file as many others do.
Why is the encrypted file 3x bigger than one created with Winrar if compression is used?
Winrar encrypts, deletes files, and has exe option. In fact, I see no advantage of any encryption or compression program over Winrar at all.
Isn't free choice grand?

Sounds like a personal preference to me. ![]()

...and I thought Winzip was for .zip files and Winrar was for .rar files!
and other formats as well.
