no...

by Joseph3114 - 10/10/07 5:43 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

No, i do not think bluetooth is and i agree with the other post, unless your young and in a busniess suit, it looks unstylish. If your older, it brings out wrinkles, fat it brings out more fatness. It's weird sitting or standing by someone talking, espicially in restrooms when there hair is long and you can't see the earpeaice. Bluetooth has never been important in my life, even though everything i have has it, i prefer microSD cards, just seem simpler than having to configure bluetooth. Cause i have so many different devices its hard to keep same settings stored.
Bottom line, sure, there extreemly useful, but i think there very appealing, men is okay, because you can tell there wearing it, but on wemon it looks like they talking to themself, espiacilly when you don't realize she had one on till end of call.

Bluetooth is very Important!

by Ruben G. - 10/10/07 5:55 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I think it is very important to people that drive, get phonecalls (every 5 minutes) and work for the seacret service! I had one for my cell phone and wore it all the time on dates, riding the subway and at work, all the time. I felt foolish I looked cool but I was not getting much important calls,(you cant get calls in the subway anyhow)
I dont think every one that has one realy needs it any how,so no they are not important to me any more.

Cluncky

by rsanchez - 10/10/07 5:56 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Now that we must by law use an ear piece to talk on the phone by law, I must use it; however, they are still too big and cluncky. Plus you either have to leave them on your ear or put them someplace when you are not using the phone. Easy to lose this way.

Is Bluetooth Tech important to me?

by Labhran - 10/10/07 5:56 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Yes, as a commercial truck driver, the bluetooth headset and phone system keeps me from being distracted. Both hands can stay at the controls of the truck, and I can still make and recieve phone calls. Also, by July 1st 2008, using a cell phone in a moving vehicle without a hands-free device will be illegal. There is nothing more frustrating to a professional driver than to see someone in a car or truck holding their cell phone against their head with one hand and trying to drive with the other. The hand holding the phone forces the driver's head to be in an unnatural position and also prevents seeing any dangers or obstructions that might be coming at them. I have had many close calls because the other car's driver was on the cell phone and didn't see me because he or she was holding their phone up to their ear and their vision was blocked.

I like no wires

As a truck driver I love my BlueParrot headset for driving due to the noise level in the truck, no problem hearing and being heard and understood, out of the truck I like my H9 MiniBlue, it's small and easy to use.

Cool? Maybe not, BUT NEEDED NOW IN PA

by mattd241 - 10/10/07 6:11 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

As of today, it is law in PA that the only Blue Tooth will be allowed if you want to talk while driving. No hand held usage and no text messaging allowed. Big $$$ if you're caught without Blue Tooth.

Ban Bluetooth!

by flnettles - 10/10/07 6:21 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Not at all. One of my favorite phrases is Hold The Phone, ranks right up there with Stop The Presses. Bluetooth headsets just make it easier to use the phone while driving, which should be outlawed totally. Besides, I work for the DMV, so I see people talking on these things all the time. It just makes them look like idiots.

Bluetooth is a safety hazard no matter what!

by softwarecritic - 10/10/07 7:30 PM In reply to: Ban Bluetooth! by flnettles

I am disgusted enough by seeing people driving along yakking into their cellphones.

Those who claim that they can conduct business with a Bluetooth while driving are only kidding themselves since driving requires undivided attention.

Undecided

by RunningReeder - 10/10/07 6:23 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

First of all, I don't ever want to be one of "those guys" who walks around everywhere seeming to talk to the people who are around him, but really he is talking to a girl on the phone through his Bluetooth headset. On the other hand, it is nice to be able to shrink songs to the appropriate length in mp3 format and make them a ringer... However, Verizon is too cheap to allow their customers to Bluetooth over ringtones and we have to pay for EVERYTHING. I have been able to help my friends get free ringtones though. Bluetooth has far more ability though beyond phones, but I have yet to utilize these items, so I am still very undecided.

Cool and dorky...at the same time.

by jeffreysmith11 - 10/10/07 6:31 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

Bluetooth is very cool when it's needed. If you have a need to use both hands while talking and let's say DRIVING, or maybe tech support and you need to type as you talk. But, do you really need to wear your bluetooth earpiece throughout the day, just in case you receive a call from some other dork wearing his earpiece as while sitting at McDonald's? So like I said, cool and dorky, at the same time.
And yes, I do have one, but it only goes in the ear when needed.

It is starting to be useful and affordable

by fritzman2 - 10/10/07 6:34 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I used to think the earpieces where gaudy. They still are, but also useful in keeping my hands free and getting a better voice/hearing experience. My family members have been handed the "set" and love they way they are able to hear and talk (clearly). I also like the price of the newer devices. I bought mine at Newegg for about $20.00 (slighty used?) no problem. I want 2 things: the ability to turn off the blinking light and have better password/security codes. Come on, 00000 is not secure. I use a Jabra350.

Use it constantly

by nelsonj3 - 10/10/07 6:38 PM In reply to: Is Bluetooth technology important to you? by Lee Koo (ADMIN) Moderator

I hardly talk through the built in mic and speaker on my cell phone anymore. I love my headset. I also use it to get pictures off of my cell phone and to sync my Palm. Makes like so much easier without those couple of cables. I want a bluetooth mouse for my laptop just to make life a little bit easier.
