Killer Download: Get your photos on the Web for free

by robertsbobby - 9/26/07 9:42 AM

How does Google's PicasaWeb measure up with the three apps discussed in the link below?

robertsbobby,

Nice post.
Here are other sites to check out:

Personally, I prefer image shack. Have been using it for years and easy to use.
1.5 Meg restriction for one image to copy and post to a forum. Not bad at all.
The URL will never expire unless imageshack expires.

mementh,
They all have limitations.
Imageshack has 1.5 meg for example. How else are you to post here?

Here is an example sent to the digital photo forum here at CNET:

I had to lower the resolution on Image Shack to 320x240. The downloads took a long time between 11pm and midnight (ESDT). Too many others on the site at the same time.
Now at 12:15am Image Shack is crawling again. OK at 1am. Go figure.
Long time to download sometimes using ImageShack. Nice site.

Here are the photos: Some photos are good. Others are a wish list. All are at 1.5 Meg in order to go through imageshack process
I would like to go back in the spring when the waters are really high. Should be exciting. The Town of Middlebury has a great collage there. Students are nice.
The college is pretty expensive to attend. The area is beautiful.
Stow ski area is close by and an excellent ski area that I have skied at before.
Not really for the timid on some trails.
The Von Trapp Family Lodge is close by and the restaurant is excellent. Great place to see and visit. Scenery is fabulous!! Good Food, Beer & Wine!!!

Von Trapp Family Lodge. Impressive. Huge Mountain Top Complex.
Not a good photo at all. Just wanted to show the Lodge to you.

Have you tried Flickr.com yet?

A good site to try is www.flickr.com...it is run by yahoo... I can add pics up to 25mb if i want to...there are alot of groups you can see and you can share your pics with anybody you want... you can keep your pics private or public if you want and best of all your pics are copyrighted right away... that means if someone uses your pic without your authorization you can get paid for that.

Another great site is Photobucket.com...you can put video on that site too. I think the max video size is 40mb but don't quote me on that... great site too.
