CNET TV: Sound ok, some of the time

by AndersLund - 7/21/07 9:09 AM

While watching CNET TV, I have noticed that the first 2-4 clips are fine, but then the sound stops, while the video still works. It doesn't cut the sound while playing, only when the next video starts, the sound is gone.

This happens on IE and Firefox with latest falsh for both of them.

Running Windows XP - fully updated.

Anyone have an idea for whats wrong?

I have just returned after 30 days vacation, find I have no sound on CNET-TV. Volumes are up, no mutes, sound card works fine on audio CDs, have reinstalled flash player, rebooted, but no help. Any suggestions?

Windows xp media center. Soundblaster XFi Xtreme Audio card

I am unable to get any sound from cnet. I am able to get radio or video sound from AOL.com. All sound from other sources work fine. I did have sound card problems, which arose when I downloaded Creative Zen V PLus software.

same problem

by Jack-Dinn - 8/19/07 6:28 AM In reply to: CNET TV: Sound ok, some of the time by AndersLund

i have the same prob, sometimes when a new vid clip starts the audio does not! it remains silent! if i click on the volume bar "just below the vid window or on the control panel on the left hand side of the page" the sound comes back, although the sound bar was not at the bottom or muted. i getting a little fed up of having to click the vol slider almost each time a new clip starts.

all so i noticed that the vid clips on the normal page don't buffer properly, the clip buffers a little then play up to the buffered point then it pauses for a sec, buffers some more and continues playing up to that buffer point then pauses again and so on, however if i click on full screen video it buffers properly ie as soon as i start to watch the clip the buffering continues all the way up to the end, there are no pauses in the playback at all.

its a bit odd cos i am getting 7.5Gb/s incoming from cnet vids when its in full screen so buffering should not b a problem when i am watching in the normal web page window.
