Hi everyone,
I need some advice on buying a PDA for Nurse Practitioner school. I noticed that one reccommendation was the the Palm TX. Do you think it has enough memory for multiple medical programs.? I don't want a smart phone just interested in alot of memory. I know I can use the SD cards, but the less cards the better. Cost,? I rather pay alot now so I do not have to but another one due to lack of storage capacity. I have a few years to go to finish school. Would like WIFI and blue tooth capabilties too.
I saw that HP is coming out with some new ones.
Can you help ?

The new HP models don't exist and there is no sign what they will be. But as to the TX and your selected software, they should note how much storage they need.
BUT!!! I can share that the best size for today's PDAs is 2GB. The last 2GB card I picked up was 20 bucks on sale so that can't be the deal breaker.
Bob
thanks for your reply. Do you think the TX has the most storage capacity available ( minus the SD cards) when evaluting todays PDA's?
thanks

I have a 4GB SD card I can use on my TX but due to compatibility issues with my old laptop, other Palm PDAs, etc. I found it easier to use a 2GB card.
There are no applications that don't fit on my 1GB card so I'm unsure what application is bigger than that.

The announcement was actually made yesterday morning, with full specs and photos available on Engadget following fairly accurate speculations. Standard will be 624MHz processors, 256MB ROM, 64MB SDRAM, 802.11b/g, Bluetooth, and, of course, Windows Mobile 6. The iPaq 114 (standard model) will be priced at $430 while the iPaq 214 (business model) will have a 4" screen and cost $500. Both should be available in October. There will also be GPS and Smartphone editions, being the iPaq 314 and iPaq 914, respectively.
Hope this helps,
John
The software maker will have to tell if their software runs on said models, OS and what storage is required.

I think that Palm's OS is going the way of the Dodo bird. They aren't even putting it it some of their Treo's I find it reliable, but it seems that the software is outdated.
Have you read the latest press releases regarding the Foleo drop? They tell us a lot.
I've see Mobile 6 and it's not impressive. What could be the next thing is that touch screen ipod if Jobs opens the doors to programmers.
