Here's my situation, i bought a 4061F back in March 07, I have a dvd player and a Playstation 3 hooked up to it via hdmi. When playing my PS3, the TV will sometimes turn itself off and on on its own, the screen will go blank which leads to a weak/no signal screen, or part of the signal will drop causing the picture to be magenta or greenish. My dvd player works just fine for now. Is there a compatibility issue between the two? I looked around some other forums and posts, a few people are having the same problem. I don't want to return this TV. I tried calling Samsung help line, but they don't want to help me because my dvd player is working fine. Anyone got any suggestions? Thanks.
There is a solution to this problem, it requires having the "main-board" replaced on the TV. I have a 4066f and would also have random drops from my PS3, which I put up with for several months. Last week, though, I had read on the AVS forums that Samsung had come up with a fix. I called Samsung customer service and told the tech that I needed a mainboard swap for my TV. Now I had reported my issues the week I bought my set, back in April, and have been having a dialog with Samsung ever since... that may be why I was just told that a tech would be sent to my house in a few days when I requested one.
Well, the tech came today and replaced my board. It wiped clear my calibration settings but it seems as if my HDMI issue has been completely resolved, having to re-calibrate my TV is small price to pay to have a properly working set. So, call customer service back and demand a board swap... took them a week to get to me.
P.S. I really love my Samsung ![]()
