Opoera is the best browser. I would never trust something based on the gecko core. Firefox sucks. Just take a look at the size of the installation file. In comparince in its 3 mb opera offers so much - e-mail clients, irc and so on. May be firefox is better than ie, but so what? It's still not good enough and will never be, since it's based on a platform that sucks.

The best web browser is... INTERNET EXPLORER!!!!!!!!!

It's so fast and works the best + you don't have to pay for it + it comes omn Windows PCs standard and you don't have to remove it from your PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No. Firefox is the best. Internet is filled with holes and backdoors to hackers. "Firefox all the way"

Haha, Internet Explorer is a LAZY choice!

I use FireFox as a default and, should I come across a site that needs IE (usually something with a poorly written Java applet) I click the little "open in IE" option (an extension for FireFox) and browse the site in IE. Other than that, I keep IE chained up under my bed and I try not to feed it very often.

Most web browsers are "good." There are only three browsers I have real issues with: Opera (spyware), Amaya (NO CSS or IFrame support), and Safari (poor cookie support and bad html rendering on large pages).

Well okay, I also have issues with browsers that are just add-ons to IE, like Avant Browser. While they have features like "tabs" and such, they still rely on IE's engine so really nothing much changes. The Gecko standard is much better, from a viewing and from a programming standpoint. Developing on top of IE is like trying to build a castle on top of an Indian Burial Ground. :)

You missed the best part of IE. With a structure similar to a net or a sieve, there's all sorts of amazing things you can catch just by putting it out there ....

You'll never be alone ...

I just installed Mozilla Firefox and after about 20 minutes of browsing, I clicked onto the 'donation' site and made an online donation. It is great!!

Firefox

by rjonesric - 11/30/04 1:06 PM In reply to: What is the best Browser? by bryanwellander

I use Firefox as my primary browser. Multiple search engines (Google, Teoma, Yahoo, Amazon.com, eBay) available from a drop-down in the status bar. Pop-up blocking. Tabbed browsing. I use IE only for those sites that don't understand how to adhere to standards.

FireFox or Netscape8

by gactttaca - 6/12/05 11:57 PM In reply to: What is the best Browser? by bryanwellander

I was using Firefox at work until i got a new computer, it came preloaded with Netscape 8. [All pcs have to be checked out by our tech before they go on the network] I like netscape and firefox the best. Both have tabbed browsing, which helps keep my desktop/startbar clear. As other users have said, I have had less security issues with the above mentioned programs than with Ie. [Got a new laptop was using Ie, big headace] I also use many anti-spyware programs on my pc along with anti-virus and a free firewall from Zonelabs called zonealarm. Goodluck and my your days be spyware and virus free. =)

I like IE7 for its recognized name, and security. Internet Explorer is unbeatable, because it came from the same developer of the heart of your operating system (Windows). Also, as of this writing it is still the most populous browser thru out the world.

I like Opera for its own technology and its cool.

I like Firefox for its variety of options and its potential development.

I put all of them (IE7, Firefox and Opera) on tabs in SecretWeb, and switch between them. The best use of this feature is I can hide and unhide these popular browsers with hot keys.

Happy browsing.

:)

Just stopped laughing at this.

Point 1 - Recognised - Agreed

Point 2 - Security - Really?

Point 3 - Unbeatable - What now?

Point 4 - Because it comes from the same developer - Mostly. Meaning it comes from the same corporation that Your O/S comes from. That doesn't mean to say it's "written" by the same coders. As many PC users will tell You, there are many pieces of software by MS that won't even recognise other software written by MS.

Firefox for Me

by timwerx - 4/7/07 8:24 PM In reply to: What is the best Browser? by bryanwellander

I've used it for over two years now, and it just keeps getting better. I gave IE7 a fair try (about two weeks' worth) when it first came out, but got tired of the slowness and silliness -- I got tired of watching the spinning blue donuts.

Firefox is simply superior. All joking aside, the way work has been these past couple of weeks, I have days where Firefox is the only sanity I can find.

HI

by newindia.anand - 4/16/08 7:59 AM In reply to: What is the best Browser? by bryanwellander

Hi I am using Windows 2000 professional, not XP and i feel that IE 6 experience gives satisfaction . i feel that mozilla plugins are causin its performance to fall. the download speed u get using IE you dont get using firefox. Not to blame them. I have many times used IE7 also. Well to microsoft's credit mozilla has no room to be the best, not even a contender. I prefer IE.
