Samsung LNT4671

by gilly6868 - 8/29/07 7:59 PM

I've decided to get a 46" LCD and thought I had it narrowed down to the Samsung LNT 4665 or the Sony VR2500. BUT. I just saw the Samsung LNT 4671. This thing is supposed to have refresh rates similar to a plasma, it is operating at 124 htz. There is not supposed to be any pixelation even with weaker signals. However, I cant find any info on the net about it. Anyone familiar with it?

Samsung LNT4671 in person

Gilly,

I saw the 4671 at BB and honestly it was the nicest LCD I have ever seen. The motion was super smooth. My wife and I both thought it gave a much more lifelike experience to the movie clips that were playing. I remeber when I first saw a 1080p Pioneer plasma and how big of a jump it was from the other TVs. The Samsung lnt4671 gave me the same experience. It was also next to the 4665 and there was a noticable difference in black levels and motion.

I agree but if its the first of a new generation of technology i want to make sure it will last. The sales guy did say to me that this tv just set the bar for future 1080p's.

Samsung LCD's

Gilly, in addition to here (cNet) there is a fantastic website for everything Audio/Visual related. check out www.avsforum.com. Use the search boxes for your lnt-xx71 series, or its big brother the 81 series. There are pages upon pages of reviews by people who actually own this set and cano comment on it. I've been searching the threads on the 71 & 81 for a few weeks now. In a nutshell, everyone pretty much well likes that set.

You're on track, though, with your TV choices. The new 71 & 81 series are extremely nice. LCD-wise, you could throw the new Sony XBR4 & 5 into the mix as well. Happy TV hunting.

This is the best LCD gets!

I own a new LN-T4671, and this is the best TV I have ever watched. I would put this up against a Pioneer Elite Plasma and day of the week, and twice on Sunday football. I set this TV next to a Sony KDL46XBR4 and a Samsung LN-T4665F, and tested HD cable, DVD, and Blue Ray. No pixilation on sports. Hi-def is so detailed you have to turn it down or it looks like you are seeing it through a magnifying glass. Out of the box it takes a bit of color adjusting to tone down the colors. 25,000:1 contrast ratio cancels out the shinny screen. The picture is so bright that I can't see any reflections, and I have 4 big windows behind me when watching. If there is a design flaw in this LCD, I can't find it. Day 4 and there are absolutely no downsides to this model yet.

Samsung LNT4671

by dzrteaglei - 10/9/07 11:15 PM In reply to: Samsung LNT4671 by gilly6868

I saw it at Best Buy. What caught my eye was that it was 3400.00 or 3600.00 and it has a contrast ratio of 25000:1. My jaw dropped. I now have a LNT4661f But waiting for the LNT4665 to come in, as I made an exchange. Honestly? What does any of you think has better features? The 4661 or the 4665? Besides the 10000:1 to 15000:1 contrast ratio.
