Maybe a stupid question....probably is...but if I already have a PS3, is there any reason for me to think about getting a stand-alone BR player? I am assembling a new home theater, and wondering if thats something to save money on. Thanks.
Well yes and no. If it is a basic home theater, probably not. If you have a stand alone BP, the remote will have more features than if you used the ps3. If you were building "the ultimate home theater" the BP's have individual audio outputs, so you can run each channel separately (VERY usefull if you run amps instead of receivers).
i have a very nice setup and I use my PS3 as my BR player also. Don't waste the money on a stand alone player.
GET THE MOST OUT of the PS/3 as you can until the format battle is over. Save your money and hang tight.
Best wishes,
River.
The PS3 is currently one the best blu-ray players available. Due to the PS3 being fully upgradeable and having built-in HDMI 1.3 it supports all of the latest and greatest of BD. Also, once paired with a NYKO Blu Wave IR remote control it is able to work with any programmable home theater remote control.
