Hi:
I want to purchse a Sony 40 XBR because I think the picture quality and the fact it is made in Japan make it a fantastic LCD TV. Since the old TVs are on clearnace, I am thinking of getting one. They are going for $2,000 dollars now, and the new TV will be around $3,000. I am wondering if I should wait and buy the new XBR coming out soon becuase of the changes: 120 HZ, and the new 1.3 HDMI inputs. I am not sure if the changes are worth $1,000 dollars. What do you guys think?
Thanks,
1.3 would only be helpfull with a ultra hi-end home theater set up and I dought even then it would make a dufference in picture quality Sweet t.v. but to fully enjoy that stunning picture make sure you back it with a hi-def satellite system and order the hi-def package usually about $10.00 extra per month that hi-def package will give you a stunning 1080I picture and programming thats out of this world next step invest in a sweet 5.1. audio system and snack bar stewee
NOT WORTH the price difference. Upgrade speakers or receiver or whatever you want.
Best wishes,
Riverledge.
NEW model; 18,000:1 contrast....old model 7,000:1....huge difference, but still doesn't come close to the 42 or 50 inch Pioneer PDP-580HD in the same price range.
