Social networks

by emilywoods - 8/7/07 7:10 AM

Has anybody heard of a software called 8hands?
It's supposed to organize all of your profiles from all different networks.
I don't really have time to try it myself (the reason I'm interested in this software to begin with is because it should save me some time) so i was hoping that maybe one of you heard about it or tried it before?
I'll be thankful for any help.
I've checked their website- 8hands.com- but it seemed a bit complicated for me.
thanks.

It looks like they are

having a few issues with msvcr71.dll being missing.

Site Advisor says it's safe.
Cannot be used with OS other than Windows.
It's an alpha version, whatever that means.

I wouldn't try this at this time, unless you're willing to figure out how to install the msvcr71.dll and then handle the other issues that are talking about in the forum.

My question to you is,

What is the need for such a program?

If I want to socialize with my friends I use a program called Trillian. It works with AOL, MSN, Yahoo and ICQ instant messaging systems. I sign on once and they all log on. No need to sign into four messaging systems to talk to my friends.

Thank you for helping a very busy girl.

The reason i was looking for info about 8hands is because Trillian doesn't really help me.

you see, I'm not interested in IM as much as in social networks like Myspace, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter etc.
8hands deals with organization and aggregation of those networks.
But as you said, It's only in it's alpha stage.
thanks again.

click on 8hands and read the user reviews, they don't sound great at this time.

It may be better when it comes out in the final version.

I'm using it for a while now.
It's not perfect yet- there are some bugs to fix, but show me a software that didn't have bugs in it's alpha stage..
The good news is that a new version came out like 2 weeks ago, and it's much better.
I guess what I'm trying to say is..
Emily, busygirl, Don't you listen to that Ricko guy- i didn't have any problems with a dll file, and the installation went just fine.
If you're an addict as you say you are, 8hand will definitely suit you.
