portable websites

by Delphine - 8/1/07 7:35 AM

I have an elderly friend who has no computer or internet connection. I'd like to show her some web pages. How can I do this?

I know is the PrtScr and bring up Paint program, press ctrl and v together. Save the file and use your printer to make copies. Theres lots smarter folks hare, they will probably know of a better way. Good luck.

1.) If you have a PDA, laptop, etc you could load the websites on them and then go File->Save As, saving them to the device to review later when the internet connection no longer is available.

2.) While viewing the website go File->Print and print it out on paper, showing it to her that way. Just remember to enable the printing of images and backgrounds if such is wanted.

Hope this helps,
John

I do have a laptop. So would I save the pages AND the links that they lead to? And then just them all separately when I go over?

If They Have A Telephone...Use Your Laptop's Dial-up...

by Grif Thomas Moderator - 8/2/07 1:28 PM In reply to: portable websites by Delphine

...capability....That is, IF it has a dial-up modem.. I always keep an installation of free Netzero on our laptops so I can quickly connect to the internet using a telephone line if the need ever arises.. Netzero has access numbers throughout the U.S., IF you happen to be from the U.S. You can check for a local one at the link below:

http://my.netzero.net/s/numbers

If you're just going to show a few webpages, then a quick setup of the dial-up settings only takes a few minutes.

HOpe this helps.

Grif
