Hey guys !!
I would just live to ask a question that is often talked about over the net :
Which is better ? Internet Explorer 7 or FireFox 2 ?
I have seen many reports that Firefix is faster and more secure but is it not just jealousy for Microsoft ?
Thanks,
E.A.
Everyone has an opinion on this. Only way to know it try on your machine. I use Firefox and am well satisfied... others like IE7.
So its all in the eyes of the beholder and how they work on your machine. Best of luck and if you have not already, give Firefox a try.

It is very true ..
I have tried FF and I though it was very fast ... but i did not know how secure it is ...
As you said, it is about opinion : i personally trust Microsoft ...
Is there no proven facts ?
The war of browsers it getting on ... Between the new safarie etc...
Secunia, for one, lets you review disclosed security flaws, see how severe they are, how long it took before they were addressed, and which ones still remain. Firefox is statistically better than IE in this regard, does not support ActiveX, a security risk in itself, and is not integrated into the OS like IE is. Those are a few of the main reasons it's recommended over IE. IE7 improves upon this, particularly in Vista with its protected mode, but a long history of failures is hard to overcome.

firefox ro ie7?
it's been around for a while ... Apple has decided to port it over to Windows, that's all. It's not new.
anyone know when it's going to come out of beta for Windows? I tried using it, it wasn't very good to me.
Woo, great way to start a flame war.
IE PWNS. Get over it.
hmmm .... I still think FF pwns because it's way faster !
And safer because Actif X codes don't work ... though sometimes that's bad ![]()
and IE is the only browser I know of you can completely secure against all malware. Ever heard of GPEDIT? Now thats what I call PWN4G3.
And its not faster; not on normal PCs.
Heck, even without GPEDIT, here on XP Home, I'll bet I have a far more secure setup than the majority of those 'foxers out there who think there all secure and that when really its a.. facade?
How would you use the Group Policy Object Editor to protect yourself against the URI Handling Command Execution Vulnerability, the highly critical security flaw which can give a hacker full, unrestricted, remote access to your computer? And, of course, maintain functionality?
The fact is that yes, you can make IE more secure and yes, you can get by using it if you're careful, bu it is most definitely NOT completely secure. NO browser is 100% flawless. Those who believe otherwise have been both extremely lucky and uninformed.
John
you isolate yourself in a sandbox by blocking execution of files and/or user privelages in your local user folders. As for maintaining functionality.. Im not sure on that one. Your correct, no browser, no ANYTHING is 100% secure, but for people who sit there and go ZOMG LOLZZZZZ I'm super secure cos I use Firefo/Mac OS X or whatever, really there just protected by lack of Market Share, not true security configuration.
"Those who believe otherwise have been both extremely lucky and uninformed"
I hate to say it, but I am an avid IE user (dont worry, I had my days of firefox fanboyism) and NONE of my machines have ever any trouble. The only trouble I ever had was my own fault for downloading the netcraft toolbar, which is a piece of junk, and quickly found itself ejected from my setup.
