Need your advice- full-screen photo display + captions
by zonebubba - 7/20/07 8:42 PMFolks- I respect and need your opinion. I'd like a recommendation for an inexpensive or free software product that will permit full-screen displays of a directory of photos with captions.
Photoshop Album shows full-screen photos without captions. The Windows XP Photo and Fax viewer shows almost full-screen photos with filename and "Windows and Fax Viewer" at the top and the taskbar at the bottom.
Is there any product which shows a full-screen photo (or one nearly full-screen minus the space for a caption) plus a caption that can be entered for each photo?

Microsoft offers VB Express for free. So the code for your project could be as simple as...
1. Go full screen.
2. Display an image from the directory.
3. If there is some text file, show the text box in the position you want.
4. Sleep some number of seconds.
5. If looping, goto step 2.
The amount of code in VB is less than 20 lines long and you'll get the effect you wanted for free.
