Desktop Tower Defense is the new Tetris for me - I like the low brain & time commitment.

FTR: Here's a recent list of free "full fledged" games that I'd love to have the time to try:

A good place for this thread to get started?

Cross Platform Games

by JebusWankel - 7/12/07 11:42 AM In reply to: Next episode - Free Games - Got suggestions! Questions? by acedtect CNET staff

I second tremulous, add plasma pong (very trippy), and implore XMoto, probably my favorite.

http://tremulous.net/ really Free
http://www.plasmapong.com/ free as in beer
http://xmoto.tuxfamily.org/ (Windows version there, just a little less up-to-date) Free, more full fledged than linerider

I can't stop playing Momentum Missile Mayhem, been at it for weeks now.

I also liked Y3K Defender. I like the strategy involved and that it not too click speed intensive.

For all my free gaming, I go to Moo Arcade (http://www.mooarcade.com/games/index.php). A whole bunch of free timewasters

Also, I heard the game Flashback is in public domain now. I'll have to look into that.

Neopets is another time waster.

what do (my wife) plays

by raftos - 7/16/07 2:28 PM In reply to: Next episode - Free Games - Got suggestions! Questions? by acedtect CNET staff

Together with my wife, we play isketch (isketch.net) which is online pictionary, available in many languages and with a nice sense of community. Is a fun way to spend time together with a joint goal.

Apart from that, she's very into games which makes you do multitasking very fast. There was the "original" Diner Dash, now there's the same thing being in a different restaurant, cooking and serving at a sushi bar and being a hairstylist. I find them kinda repetitive and frustrating, but she's more the demographic and she finds the amusing.

whre does she gets them

The wife says that she gets those online games at:
zylom.com
yahoogames.es
bigfishgames.com
