Who agrees with me-- controversial topic on "anti-glare"

by AlanHub - 7/9/07 6:43 PM

Heres something i wrote in response to some blog on crave about the glossy screens-- Agree or not?:

I have both a matte mac and a glossy Qosmio... trust me i know hand in hand with glare. First off, if you have a light source that is too bright in the room or if you are sitting outside, the light travels on the little crevices of the matt screen causing the screen to be almost completely washed out with light... and it is literally unseeable unless you are in the shade. While a glossy screen reflects the light back into the room, so the light does not stay on the screen. Thus causing a glossy screen to be legible.

Isn't this "personal choice"?

If you have control of the room lighting there is a good reason for the sharper screen. But since not everyone has such control you can choose which screen you get.

Why would there be any controversy?

Then you've made a case for your selection.

This is something we choose depending on our wants and needs. There is no controversy here.

Now if it only came in "Hello Kitty" color schemes that would be something.

Matt Vs Glossy

A matt screen can still be visiable if you tilt the screen to the correct angle, since the reflected light will be scatttered away from you eyes. A glossy screen can be useless if you look directly at it, because the reflected light go straight into your eyes. Depends on how you look at it. No controverse.
