You mean to tell me that Apple who is in its’ "fetal stage" of cell phone development, has already garnered more support than say a Motorola that has been in the mobile communications business for decades? That's absurd! If they have so many “supporters” how come up to this point Apple has failed to dominate the personal computer sector? Something fishy going on.
Thats the RAZR! Motorgranola
Nokia is cutting edge. The 6600 Symbian Smartphone was ground-breaking and durable. It was/is like a Mercedes E Class - a workhorse. While most manufacturers focus on music, Nokia has built quite a collection of smartphones which offer web access, operating systems and memory cards as well as music and megapixel cameras for a fraction of a PDA monthly fee.
Such 'cutting edge' technology which trumps Apple ONE unit is a 5 megapixel camera, the N95. Compare it head-to-head w/ the iPhone or Curve or ANYTHING from Motorola.
Motorolas are popular and, they offer an abundance of 'flip phones' which appeal to teens who aren't so discerning. ...but they're notoriously cheap and poorly made, with a dated interface. What's more, I don't believe Motorola offers any smartphones.
Nokia is my first choice, Sony Ericsson is my second. I think SE scores so poorly because they are not so popular and aren't well-advertised States-side. The innovation of the P990 and T68 as well as their design and quality, not to mention they early use of bluetooth, make SE a close second.
I have a Sanyo 5300 with Sprint service that came with an extended battery and a a standard battery purchased on Jan 2nd, 2004. I'm still using the extended battery after more than 3 1/2 years and the standard battery is still unused, in the box. I've had zero problems with this phone and, depending on use, the phone still holds a charge up to three days.
Of course it's Apple. They make good computers and so far the iPhone is holding up nicely. I don't mind Pantech or LG either.
Anyone that is LOYAL to a phone that they have only had for a few days and which is only a fair phone (great other gadget but fair phone) is um how do you spell Fan Boy, oh yeah. FAN BOY!
I don't have a real cell phone preference, however, in terms of functionality, I would go with a cell phone that uses Windows Mobile 5 or 6. I like the functionality and the ability to sync my Outlook contacts from my comptuer to my cell phone. Hit the internet at reasonable speeds, and chat to my heart's content.
With all that said, any cell phone with a QWERTY keyboard will do. Although, I will say this....I like the HTC PDA types, like the MDA/Wing and AT&T 81/8525. They have much bigger keys than the the BlackJack or the Dash.
So to answer your question....I guess I would have to say that I like the HTC PDA type phones with slideout keyboard.
HTC makes the function/price ratio phones.
Palm phones give you the best and most accessories. They do now need a creativity boost.
Nokia makes the largest variety that work will in multiple situations.
Generally speaking all phones work well enough that if I got a free one I would keep it.
Have had several Nokia, back to early analog days, and never a problem with any of them. Had 3 Motorolas - problems with 2 of the 3. One Samsung now with problem (may not be the phone's fault) but Samsung customer service is horrendous - so no matter how good the phone is, will never buy one again.
I have been using GSM ever since they started. i love nokia. user friendly, and always something new. motorola breaks too easy. second choice would be samsung. only hting about mokia lately, battery life don't last quite long. but despite that... they are very good for me.
Hey all, I prefer Moto since it seems very reliable and durable for me. It can take abuse and keep on keeping on. I have had a Kyocera (and so have my other two family members with cells) and all of them have broken (my wife is using a loaner right now and it is time for her to pick a new phone tomorrow). It could be the model (SoHo) but I may switch brands but if defintely won't be Kyocera
Regardless of anyones loyalty to a phone makers - mine is Samsung - having dumped Motorola years ago as they didn't keep up with my needs
I find the pole results absolutelly amazing
34 pct. loyal to Apple
now lets see the only phone Aple ever made is the 7 day old I-phone
- unproven, no-user evaluation, and on top of it only available to
15 pct of customers unless everyone suddely switches providers - never mind taking on a second job to pay for the phone ands its various services.
I know - English language - hard language
What I do not get is why Apple is in this poll. They have been on the block for a week, and have a loyalty base of 39%???(at the time I answered this)
As for the companies that have been around awhile, I would go with Nokia. I just like them because for 9 years that I have had service, Nokia has been good to me. I started with Motorola (StarTac....eww, a brick to today's standards) and tried Nokia with my next go around when that contract was over. I have switched since then twice(tried an LG and Motorola), and still back to Nokia I went. Lg was a little too flimsy for my taste, and Motorola never got good reception where I live, But Nokia has been tried and true everywhere I go.
With the new Nokia N series, I fell in love with them all over again, except for the prices, but what do you expect with quality smartphones. Do not get me wrong, Motorola has some excellent phones also, but they are not here the U.S.(Ming, i.e.), so that is why I stick with my old friend.
iPhone is just barely off the shelf, isn't it too early to talk about product loyalty? I have no preference to any cell phone. Why? I go with the best deal offered on the market.
I've had Nokia's in the past and was always very happy with 'em (how could I NOT be, when I always got 'em for nuthin'), but as someone above just mentioned, AT&T/Cingular (yeah, why CAN'T they make up their minds once and for all, anyway?) doesn't have a large selection of Nokia's to choose from these days. Therefore, durin' my recent family plan phone upgrade, I switched over to Samsung for my son and LG for me. No probs so far (altho on THE day that my son got HIS Samsung Sync phone for his 15th birthday, it was stolen....so I'd say thats a BIG problem, wouldn't YOU?) but I have had problems with LG's in the past. Durin' a past upgrade some years ago at a time when I wanted a new phone/new look, LG was my first choice, but it was quickly shipped right back to Cingular due to malfunctioning problems right off the bat....and thats when I decided to stick with the Nokia's. Until recently, that is...when I decided to give LG another shot. However, for ME, a small-time simple cell user who doesn't want or need all the fancy-schmancy gizmo's 'n gadgets that most cell phones are adorned with nowadays, ANYTHING will do....as long as it WORKS. I'm easy.
